I just asked what turned out to be a couple really controversial questions a few moments ago and I found that if you question America it is seen on this site as attacking America. Similarly, if you question freedom or patriotism you are seen as an antagonist here. Having lived in many countries around the world (America included) I don't think this is a fair representation of Americans here on answers.
Perhaps only the far right and far left are represented here and the middle majority is going unheard, but that's just speculation.
As far as the 911 connection, I'm not sure what you mean. I have never seen any undisputed evidence to show the government was complicit in these actions. And I am fairly sure that there are still enough cheques and balances in the American system to catch something so horrific as that.
Lets hope that no American government is ever capable of carrying out such attrocities against its own people. I hate to think what that would that mean for much of the world the sees America as a shining beacon of hope.

I tend to believe that those 84% are more pointedly thinking that a cover up exists as far as our response on that day went. Why the planes weren't shot down, etc. Not so much that Bush/Cheney planned 9/11, but the details of how that day was handled overall. A cover up can pertain to many things, and not necessarily mean the government caused it to happen or planned it in any way. For instance, the warnings about Al Queda's activities in the U.S. were largely ignored. But no one in Bush's Administration wants to talk about that - that qualifies as a cover up. I doubt very much if 84% of the population thinks 9/11 was planned and carried out by the Bush/Cheney contingent.

For one what pictures are you looking at. I saw destruction, people crying and chaos what does that tell you about the U.S. Government lying to us.
Do you really believe honestly that the government is involved up to their necks in this? They wanted this to happen? For what reason? What possible motive could they have by being involved up to their necks into the 9/11 attacks? It makes them stronger?
Do I believe they know more than they are telling us? Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. But I don't believe in one second they would allow the mass destruction of thousands of lives to happen. If they could have ultimately stopped it they would have.
Idiot, think before you speak. You can't concoct a damn thing from pictures taken from 9/11, because they have nothing to do with our government.

Back in the day, almost 100% of the people thought that the Earth was the center of the universe. That did not make it true.
I saw a documentary on the US Bullion Depository (aka Fort Knox) last night. A lot of Americans believed that the gold at Fort Knox was all gone. Guess what they saw the one time that they let reporters and congressmen in...gold.

Proof that the New York Time poll was accurate and not biased? Proof of an inside job? Proof that 84% think the government lied? What, you have none. I'm not surprised at all.
When someone uses a statistic and it's not accurate, or even plausible, they look ignorant.

Because the NYT didn't ask me my opinion !!!!!! Thats why.
You need to substantiate your 84% claim.
If some Americans believe the government is lying about 9/11, then it must be they are lying about Clintons involvement.
Why do you assume that people who want to support the President, want to kill everybody that disagrees with them?
You listen to mainstream media toooo much.

Because most of the American people are a very scary bunch and are incapable of making informed and reasonable decisions. Some get it, some don't. That is why leaders must lead.
Are you telling me that you trust the opinion of the average Joe? I would not let them watch my house, let alone trust their opinion regarding matters of national importance.

Since you have your heart set on beleiving all this garbage, maybe you should move your butt to a different country and run your mouth there. Iran or someone like that might listen to you. How many more times are willing to be called jackass? Heres one more.

there has been some evidence that the government tried to conceal their involvement with 9/11. pictures show parts of the world trade center blowing up even before the plane hit. those pictures lead many to believe the government planned these attacks and put bombs in the buildings and set them off just as the planes hit. whatever the story is, Bush doesn't seem all too concerned with our troops. he says that taking them out now would lead to more fighting, so yes Bush, a wonderful idea, send more and more people to their early deaths to protect something that more than half the country blames you for.
