Yes, even more. Let me state, I think Don Imus was punished way to severely for what he said. I also think what he said was in poor taste and thoughtless, which is the point I am trying to make as to why it is still important, more important. It seems over the years we as a society have become less concerned about common courtesy and respect for others. Today it is all about me, insulting others, being disrespectful, being thoughtless, being a gangsta, being shocking. Sure we have free speech but have we lost our common sense as to how to use that speech? Insulting those young ladies is a prime example. An ignorant, thoughtless remark that will stick with them for the rest of their lives which they will get on with but will never forget. Cruelty usually begets cruelty and anger and violence. It is something that is way to common today, very sad.

Free speech only means freedom from the government silencing that speech; it doesn't mean that a network is forced to keep employing someone like Imus.

The Imus issue pales in comparison to a maniac shooter killing innocent students.

In my opinion it should not have gotten the noise it received. Real life, the war, dead soldier's, gun's the weather the list goes on... Why Al Sharpton? Why now?
Boom we r awake now aren't we?

It was a stupid thing Sharpton did and it is still stupid. Reverend Sharpton needs to get his priorities straightened out. He should apologize to those lives he has ruined with his big mouth!
