In football(American), a sack artist is a defensive player who has developed moves, usually unique to himself, by which he is able to tackle a quarterback before he throws the ball. In other areas of endeavor, a sack artist may be one who fills a grocery bag to capacity, one who contrives to stay in bed or sleep through events which would awaken most other people, and so on.
