Do people still fall for this scam? Also the poor student scam. Buy your mobile (cellphone) scam. Is it not about time Yahoo violated all nigerian posts on here. They are the first to report you for a violation. Am about to lose my account here for daring to challenge one of them. Beware and happy answering to all honest users. regards and might see you soon.

Touche'. Sometimes I think Yahoo is too busy being politically correct that they don't recognize the vaule of a good sarcastic response when someones asks a perfectly stupid question. Hang in there fellow avenger!

Actually it is not something Yahoo can do anything about. The scams are coming via e-mail but are not coming directly from Nigeria or other known scamming sites. The people who are unwittingly aiding this kind of thing are the ordinary computer users who still don't realise the need for Firewalls A/V and anti spyware software. A well known magazine did an experiment a couple of weeks ago, within a couple of hours of setting up a new internet connection on an
unprotected computer it was hacked several times. These computers are hacked and the details sold on to the people who use them for phishing etc. They then send multiple mails from these knowing some will get through. If everyone protected their computer properly it would at least ease the problem. And yes people still fall. I have a letter on my desktop ready to post in this forum and have already used it FOUR times today.

Yes, people do fall for EVERY scam out there. If they didn't, the scams would go away. Reporting the scams to the world won't help anyone. If you can't recognize them as scams on your own, all the warnings in the world won't help. If you ignore the details and look at the essence of the scams, you will find there are less than a dozen out there.

Sigh (insert eyeroll here)..........

If you see an e-mail from someone you don't know, don't open it. Not exactly a reason for angst and drama.
