It's taught to us, but we teach it to ourselves too, and life teaches it to us as we get the actual results of our own right and wrong thinking. Some people realize this and that is why some people can change some things, if they want to, and some people use it as an excuse never to have to change anything in any way. It's part of resiliancy!

Ah.........I believe it is both. It is a scientific fact that babies learn while in the womb as well as the first few years of their lives.
Right or wrong is not only built in us (morals, conscience, gut feelings) it is also programmed in us by our parents, teachers and peers.
We are given free will so how we chose to live (either right or wrong) is how our life will turn out.

Good morals (right or wrong) is an inherent trait and not an acquired "taste". It comes with the hadrware and if the hardware is fundamentally flawed..... you are in the company of baboons. It is a software built on the hardware.

If right and wrong were built-in concepts from birth, then all humans would act the same way towards themselves and others. "Good" and "bad" are societal programming..

I think it depends on which end of the "wrong" action you are on. The person recieving a beating when they are young will think that it is "wrong". The person giving the beating might think it is "right".
So, I guess I'd fall on the side of "programmed".

I think it's all about choice and what we're conditioned to throughout our lives.I don't believe we're born knowing right from wrong,I believe it's how we're brought up and the culture we grow up in.What's right for one group of people is not for another.
