been on drugs in some way shape or form since i was nine. now forty and can still have a conversation, still type etc etc

I wont judge you. As far as I am concerned all drugs should be available on prescription to registered addicts. I don't care if you or anyone else wants to ruin your body by stuffing poison into it as long as you don't rob people to pay for it. If drugs were easily available on prescription there would be no profit in it for the drug dealers and producers so we would not need customs officers to stop them or police drug squads to catch drug the dealers as there would not be any.

Wow what an achievement, so why the bad attitude? You haven't started getting paranoid have you? There is on real big problem for people who use the drugs you list, they are illegal, there are though other problems, take a look at this.

I personally object to anybody patronizing the people who are the present sources of drugs of this nature, if they were legal and obtainable in a similar way to alcohol I would not have a problem with that. You say you have been on one drug or another since age nine. Just think, who supplies drugs to a nine year old? What sort of people have you been funding over the years?
You must surely be feeling guilty to ask this question on yahoo, and if you are not, why are you not, have drugs killed your conscience? Have you got a family? If you have, would you approve of them starting drug use at the age of nine? Perhaps you should have a long hard think, looking back over your life, what good have drugs done you?

I'm not judging you, But I will say this... I've seen many good people waste they're live's and lose everything because of drugs. I just turned 32 and a girl I went to school with died this past friday from a massive heart attack... and guess what she's been doing most of her life... thats right... cocaine, and probably many other drugs. That stuff messes up your heart.

Long term drug users end up needing more healthcare on the NHS. Sorry to be blunt but it's true.

Edit - QPR. You say you can still have a conversation. So can all of the substance abusers I've come across.Often very intelligent people. Are they happy? No.

been there done that, i enjoyed it as well, so i cannot judge you. i gave up when i got married and had kids. thing is not everyone is as level headed as you. some people dont know when to stop or will encourage other people to indulge. we have all seen it. that is the only reason why government will judge you. peace.

No one is judging you. You are judging us by asking this question. So shouldn't the question be why do I judge people when I want to take drugs ? The answer to this is Paranoia caused by the drugs :)

I don't judge you, i believe it should be your freedom to choose to take these things safely if you want to, without having to go to illegal dealers offering unknown quantities.

'drugs' should not be sold on the street they should be available and quality controlled, like any other substance such as fags or booze.
