Just now, Nesta, although not at his best because of physical problem; Cannavaro is experiencing bad times in Real Madrid; when at their top, the two player are equally among the five best defender in the world.

Both are good players, Canavaro has more publicity and lots of hype playing among a galaxy of stars at Real Madrid;Nesta is younger,stronger and smart with the ball but playing for AC Milan mired in the middle of Serie A he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

It's true that Nesta has many injuries in the last years and that's why Cannavaro shined a little more. Nevertheless, I would that if Nesta is healthy is talent makes him better than Cannavaro

Both of them are great defenders but cannavaro isn't really doing well now.
Based on his world cup performance,cannavaro is better.
age doesn't make much of a difference in this case cos Nesta is 31 and Fabio is 34.they're both old.

Cannavaro is better than Nesta. Nesta is good but he's a bit of a sissy in my opinion. I like tough defensemen!

i think that nesta is better. but cannavaro proved that he is just as good in the world cup 2006. so i think, in the end, it balances out. i think Paolo Maldini is excellent.
