In todays Toronto Sun Military personnel were quoted as saying that Global warming is going to be a security risk to the US and what they think should be done etc

So all you people that deny it - How does this advice from the military to Bush jive with you ?

Firestor…

I think my point was that even the military is listening to the scientists who say global warming is real and a big problem pised to hit hard - War over water is comming soon and that will increase attacks on or that involve the US

The polar caps are melting etc

As to who caused it - No idea and I don't think it matters - What should matter is - Since it is real what are we doing to secure a water/food and energy supply in the world to come - soon very soon ? Are we prepared thats all we should be thinking -
Later we can still sit and debate if man was/was't responsible -I don't think man could cause a cycly change but maybe push it along a little faster than it would have been without us - Thats it though -
Man may have pushed it along But again that should not be the focus Deal with the effects now argue about the cause later

This report has been out since 2003, yet the Bush Administration ignored it then and they will ignore it now. It's not good to elect people who make money off of what could wipe a good portion of us out. It's called "conflicts of interest" for those who can't get it....and as you can see by many of the respondents, they eat the "rich man's" propaganda up like it's a steak dinner. I don't understand why people wouldn't want to err on the side of caution and invest in, promote, nay DEMAND green technologies. Why run an uncontrolled experiment on the only home we have?

Here is the pentagon report from 2003....and scientists were consulted, they didn't come up with this on their own.

Well, first you've got to realize that very few well-informed people deny that global climate change is a real thing.

That said, I DO deny that man is the cause of it, and if you've got proof (actual studies, actual data. I don't want opinions), I'd love to see it.

Your question though is what I think of military generals warning President Bush about global warming...

Answer: It doesn't mean a single thing. They're not scientists. They don't have studies to back up their statements any more than most people who say that global warming is anything more than a natural, cyclical phenomenon.

The only way I'm going to change my mind is to see actual data, actual science, that supports it... and it had better be overwhelming.

BTW... I've asked this before but, can you explain why the polar ice caps on Mars are melting?

yet another cutting-edge study has shown that at one time, the land on the present day polar ice caps had tropical flowers. factor - the global has lengthy handed by ability of thousands, in all likelihood thousands, of warming and cooling cycles. The earth at one factor replaced right into a lot, a lot hotter than it really is on the instantaneous, and it replaced into also a lot, a lot less warm than it really is on the instantaneous. it really is the cycle of our planet. To even infer any trend by technique of interpreting the most suitable 100 years over the life of a planet it really is quite a few million years previous is ridiculous. If on Sunday you haven't got any pimples, and on Monday you've a million pimple, and on Tuesday you've 2 pimples, do then you definitely make the proper that by technique of the proper of the week you'd be coated by technique of 32 pimples?

I deny it now the same as always. Still say B.S. If your afraid of a war over water then you should spend your excess time gathering it up and storing it rather bitching on here about something no one has cotroll over. If it happens, it will be a natural occurrance.

The same way I have before. Global warming is a natural occurance. End of story!

So retired Politicians and Generals agree, but what makes them anymore qualified as experts than you? Even if we could stop the progress of the planets climate, would it be ethical to do so in an attempt to keep it more comfortable for ourselves?

First off, how does a General in the military know any more about Global warming than the average person? This just doesn't make sense. Generals in the military are concerned with what is going on in their ranks, not with Global Warming. Its a conspiracy anyway. Who gives a rats ****!

I didn't know retired U.S. generals typically have a hobby of climatology.

It's almost as if they are just running scenerios.. you know.. like the Pentegon does ALL THE TIME.

This is about as relevent as generals advising Bush on if Poland were to invade Germany.

Let's make GIANT corks and go plug all the volcanoes in the world so they won't spew all their garbage into the atmosphere.

I wasn't aware that meterological acumen was a requisite to military prowess.

Should we be asking the weatherman how to keep our nation safe?
