There were no silver U.S. pennies. In 1942 and 1943 pennies were made from a steel-zinc alloy.
Millions were made. Today, although they are a novelty and may be worth a few cents more, they really were never rare enough to fetch high prices.

Likewise, $2 notes haven't been in wide circulation for many years, but enough of them were made that they do not fetch high prices either.

You might check with a local coin dealer or look on eBay to see what these things sell for.

They were mostly zinc not silver and are available in ohio in quantity for a buck or two as most have been cleaned.
