Traveler boat company put out boats in the 1980's and then just stopped. Does anyone know anything about this company, their boats, why they stopped building boats, and are their boats good quality?

There was a company called 'Arkansas Traveler Boat company owned by Southwest Manufacturing Co of Little Rock, Arkansas. The first aluminum boats I can remember were either Arkansas Traveler or Starcraft.

The only direct link I found to information was a very old thread at: http://pagebiz.com/bds/aluminum/alum.3/1726.html It's possible you may find information in the question or answers.

Many manufactures that closed shop did so because they could not produce a quality boat to compete with the costs of mass produced boats especially from overseas.

Good Luck.

There was a boat company called Traveler Boats, Inc. they were located in Tifton, GA. They made boats from 1970's and closed in Dec. 2001. No reason given as to why they quit making boats. Also, there are boats with the decal "Traveler" on the side and these are boats made by Sea Nymph Co. They also went out of business but it appears that Lowe Boats bought them out. That's bout all I know, since I was in the same situation, have a Traveler and by looking at the Hull I.D. discovered it was made by Sea Nymph with a Mercury partnership. Hope this helps

I think the discount is meant for US service members stationed in Korea and not for encouraging Koreans to emigrate to the States.
