Why don't you just come out and say it. It's the liberals fault for all these deaths right? What a freaking joke.

NO amount of gun control legislation will stop what happened today. No flags went off from the current laws because the shooter had no record and was able to legally aquire the guns.
I am 100% for allowing students that pass a CHL course to carry on campus. They have to be 21+ and be proficient with the weapon, but they can put a stop to crap like this. As for earlier remarks about drunken and dumb stereotypes of college students: I'm 20, have a 4.0 after 2 years, never drank a beer, and have grown up around guns.

faculties get to call the photos, similar as church homes, similar as offices, similar as procuring shops, similar as bars. it should be an truly unusual community that would enable firearms interior 100 yards of any college or church, and that i trust it is also a count number of federal regulation, yet you're welcome to do the study. As a lengthy-time NRA member, i don't love the idea of all of us on campus with firearms, inspite of in the adventure that they have got qualified for a CCW let, until eventually it really is performed with the certain awareness and approval of the college directors (which shouldn't ensue except for community police who're assigned there). the college directors do not even want the criminal duty that incorporates hiring armed guards from inner most safe practices companies. some thing else to imagine about.........the full CCW project has performed properly. All yet 2 states now enable some type of hid carry, with in basic terms about NO issues. nevertheless, some states have historic CCW regulations, like Indiana (because that 1925, at the same time as vehicle-Ordance Corp offered Tommy guns by technique of mail order and the U.S. Postal service added them to the customer's door). it really is the truth. No issues suggested in Indiana, yet could they be checking their state regulation to be positive it really is cutting-edge?

Concealed weapons permits do not apply to federal land, military installations, indian reservations, schools, or anywhere where it is expressly forbiden by posted signs.
The nice thing about concealed weapons permits is because it gives you training on stuff like this. Those who say more guns would cause more crimes have fallen victim to a fallacy built on slippery slope logic. Gun related crimes are actually lower in gun friendly cities and states. This is in part because, first those who have guns in gun friendly states generally have better training. And second, if you know that there is a good chance that the old retired vet across the street has a gun, you are less likely to break in.
While I applaud the fact you support the second amendment, gun ownership means being responsible. And responsible gun owners don't want criminals to have guns either. We just don't want them to take ours when we didn't break the law.

Where was the police when you need them?
I think we do need to teach people gun ownership responsibility, just like we need people to pass the driver's license test. I think what happened at VA tech is very sad, but also, it's a time to wake up and re-think what's wrong here. Although I'm for the second amendment, I think responsibility is more important now because a lot of kids these days are irresponsible. A lot of teenagers die from automobile accidents because of irresponsible driving. So, it also applies to guns. It's not a matter of prohibition, but of responsibility. People shoud pass the gun ownership responsibility test before they could own a gun.

Our college campuses and schools are sitting ducks for mad men like this guy.
If the misguided laws that prohibit students and staff from carrying legally owned handguns for personal protection had not been in place, this tradgedy could have been stopped much sooner.
Looking for blame? The elected officials and school administrators that enacted the laws that prevent responsible citizens from defending themselves.

You're kidding, right? Why not allow them in bars while you're at it?
Even if you're not, I assume that its within a defined space with its own personal security detail, so there "technically" shouldn't be any need for carrying firearms around campus, even for "defnesive" purposes -- the obvious flaw in that logic resulted in the tragic events of today. Still, I prefer no guns on campus to all guns on campus; at least that rules at the possiblity of accidental death.

Hey, why don't you go out and buy the biggest ordnance you can fit through the front door, Rambo.
That'll sure as hell cut down on that early Sunday morning lawn mowing, eh?
This latest tragedy is just one more opportunity for idiots to come out of the woodwork and make irresponsible, low-ball remarks, trying to get a rise out of someone else. Real sharp.

I miss the days when Archie Bunker would say "the way to stop airplane hijackings is to give all the passengers guns" and then we would all laugh.
Now Archie's treasured wisdom is the platform for the Republican Party and viewed with awe by half of America.
Oh, well. I'll just stifle.

Students who have permits to carry guns should be able to carry them on campus. A person with a permit isn't likely to commit a crime with it.
