Well you never know, grass may WELL be purple or another colour! Just because human eye sight sees the grass as being green it doen't mean it REALLY IS Green does it. Lets look at animals for an example, some only see in one or two colours but to them they believe the world is just in that colour. So who is to say that the colours we actually see IS the colours they actually are, if that makes sence?

As for words like why are elephants not called cows, its the same as why are dogs not called cats, or why are we known as humans and not animals? How these people ever first came up with each and every word is beyond me!

cause glasses sit on our nose for our eyes, so they'd be stupid as hats since our eyes aren't on top of our head!
Green grass looks better than green sky, also not all grass is green, some is dead and brown. Plus the sky isn't always blue, like a red sky, grey clouds, white, pink, yellow etc. It changes all the time, plus like black at night so we can see the stars. Elephants are only such named in some languages by the way.

Grass is green due to the presence of chlorophyl.Elephants are not cows and they are recognized by their identy which is elephent and glasses are not hats hence they are identified and referred to as glasses.Everything has a name and this is even biblical.

No, this is a very poor question.

Those things have the names they do because we all agree that they do. We could all agree tomorrow to call elephants "cows" - but that wouldn't change the fact that they are huge grey things with trunks, and we'd still need another word for the white-and-brown things that moo and give milk.

Grass is gree cause it has clorophyll and this pigment absorbes all colors exept this one, so it's the one we see. As for the rest of the words, we use those words to name those things cause a loooooooooong time ago a bunch of people "agreed" on it.

It is called, " the structure of social reality ", the reality we all agree on, rather like driving arbitrarily on the right. ( not to be confused with " social constructionism " )

an object is given a name by someone interested and when many people accept it, it becomes prevalent e.g name s or nicknames of children/animals

maybe the grass is purple, but to you, your brain interprets it as green as that's how you have always known it.

Maybe apples are green to me, but maybe to you they would appear black if I could see them through your interpretations... ever think about that?
