I'm a female, 26, 5'4", and 128 pounds. I have a pouch of fat on my abs that literally hangs over my belly, love handles, and even size 14 pants (my brand, it varies for other brands) doesn't fit! I went to WIC, and they said that I was underweight and wasn't eating enough. What the heck is that!!! They said that my arms are nothing but bones. Well, they're wiry, but anything I eat goes straight to the midsection of my body, and IMO... nearly 130 pounds for a woman with a petite skeletal structure IS overweight! What's your opinion?

Lisa, I have various brands of pants, and nearly all of them don't fit. There's size 5 through 14, and they don't fit. For the rest of you, my BMI is 22, which is perfect. I eat small meals throughout the day because I can't stand eating 3 meals which is too big for my stomach to take, and I drink plenty of water since I sweat frequently even with minimal activity. I've talked to the doctor and he concurs: I'm not underweight nor overweight, and he's okay with how I've been eating. Been doing A LOT of sit ups and crunches for nearly seven months, and still nothing. Not even a pound off. I even watch my calories AND carbs, too. I'm at my wit's end!

Oh, and one more thing... I'm breastfeeding, and the doctor requires me to take in 2,500 calories. The last time I took in less for my weight's sake, I dried up and had absolutely no milk left within a month. Only thing left is to work on my abs, and nothing's happening.

if you are undereating you lose only water weight and muscle not fat and actually end up gaining weight. the fact that you are underweight doesnt mean that you are healthy and fit, you might as well have pretty high body fat percentage. muscle weights more than fat. and your tummy is just one place your body like to keep its fat reserves.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

you are actually perfectly normal body mass index at 22 for your height and weight. i am the same height as you and would give anything to weight what you do. There is absolutely no way for you to be a size 14. I am probably 30 pounds heavier than you and wear a 12-14.

Height: 5 feet, 4 inches
Weight: 128 pounds

Your BMI is 22, indicating your weight is within the normal range for adults of your height. Maintaining a healthy weight may reduce the risk of chronic diseases associated with overweight and obesity.

How big is your waist measurement? If it is over 32 inches, then you would need to lose some pounds. You can have a doctor or gym instructor check your body fat, which will tell you if you are carrying too much fat or not.
