Becuase they want to make it a bigger story-it's bad enough. I think the school was dealing as best they could, wait until more is known. Right now it is not clear what occured, how they were trying to notify people. The campus is very spread out and has a large number of commuters, so how do you notify everyone in a quick manner. It is a complex matter that I never thought Tech would face.

The second shooting took place like an hour and a half later. The school should've been locked down way before the 2nd shooting had a chance to take place.

After the first shooting occurred they thought it was an "isolated incident". That building was locked down immediately. They did not expect anything else to happen. My prayers go out to all of them and their families.

On one hand, it probably took so long to warn students because a lot of academics didn't fully realize what was going on (i.e. recognize the sound of gunshots and automatically take evasive action); and on the other hand mass communications throughout a university is a bit dim.

Because the media lives to exploit the truth.
They influence society WAY too much, in my opinion, and it scares me. There's a reason I don't watch this stuff and I wait for the truth to slowly come out.
