Flip the second fraction over and multiply the first fraction by your new number. For example, if you had to divide 3/8 by 1/8, you would flip 1/8 over to get 8. You would then multiply 3/8 by 8, which is 3.

You can do the cross cancellation. Once you change the division sign to the multiplication sign and reverse the 1/8 to 8/1. Than you can cross cancel. Divide 8 into 8 which will give you 1. So it come out to be 3/1. ANy number over one is that number
3/8 divided by 1/8
3/8 times 8/1
3/1 times 1/1 =3

frequently, to divide fractions, stick to those steps: a million. write the priority (ensure they're incorrect, no longer mixed #s) 2. turn the 2d fraction (so like a million/2 will substitute into 2/a million) 3. multiply the two fractions on the same time (multiply the two ideal #s, and multiply the two backside #s, and basically make it a fragment...) 4. simplify (if a danger) so ur answer is: 2/3 diveded via making use of three/4 = 2/3 x 4/3 = 8/9 (2x4 = 8 3x3 = 9) (it cant be symplified anymore)

If they have equal denominators then it's just the first numerator divided by the second (eg 3/1 or 10/1 for your examples).

do the reciprocal of the second fraction
a reciprocal is the opposite of the previous fraction
1/3 would be 3/1
3/8 would be 8/3
example
1/8 divided by 2/8
1/8 times 8/2
1 time 8 is 8
8 times 2 is 16
your answer is:
8/16
you should always reduce your answers, it is proper form
1/2 is the answer

Multiply by the inverse, they will cancel out.
3/8 * 8/1 = 3
10/3 * 3/1 = 10
edit: apparently I'm wrong, you multiply by the flippy version of the second fraction...

When you divide by a fraction, you flip it and then multiply it.
If the denominators are the same, a shortcut is to put the first numerator over the second numerator.
(a/c)/(b/c)= a/b
