Yes the lobbyist are just well paid pitchman who hand off the legislation their employer wants put into law. Our congressional members are NOT supposed to get paid bribe money for illegitimate corporate legislation, the members are supposed to write the laws for the public they represent! The wealthy puppet masters stay behind the scenes pulling the strings to lobbyist & representative government in order to set the stage in fleecing the public.

I don't have anything against lobbyists, I think a group of concerned citizens petitioning congress in an organized fashion is an admirable exercise of democratic initiative. Corporate "campaign contributions", to candidates from both parties running for the same seat, are barely concealed bribes. Our government has long held a laisse faire policy of letting businesses run themselves as much as possible, and I feel it's time that business returned the favor. Haliburton's voice should be no louder than that of any of it's employees.

What's tearing the country apart is the irresponsible media.
Selective and biased opinion reported as news.

No. I think they impede progress and gridlock the political system, but at least some of the 'tearing apart' is comming from other ideaologies than the culture of profit and corruption in big business and politics.
