I personally think so.Vince Carter numbers speak 4 themselves but he has also been very clutch this year for da Nets.T-Mac always has da numbers, injured a lot and had Yao Ming. This year he has da numbers, played 60+ games and no Yao Ming for most of da season but the Rockets had kept stride and didnt miss a beat.

There is a simple and clear cut answer to this question. NO. T-mac averages a decent 24 ppg but shoots just 43% from the field and an ugly 70% from the line. You can win an MVP while shooting 70% from the line. While Dirk shoots 90% from the line and almost 50% from the field in addition Dirk has given the Mavs many outstanding fourth quarter performances. This is just one of the many players that are better choices than T-mac. Here is my list of MVP candidates.
1. Dirk Nowitzki
2. Steve Nash
3. Tim Duncan
4. Kobe Bryant
5. Chris Bosh
T-mac and Vince would fall around the 10-15 spots for MVP.

Carter is not even in the same breath as MVP candidates. He isn't enough of an impact on the Nets like Jason Kidd, and the Nets are worse than they were last year when they had almost the same nucleus of players. The NBA usually goes for the best players on the better teams, and the fact that Carter isn't dominant or complete enough, and that the Nets have gotten worse does not put him even close.

McGrady may have been if the Rockets were a powerhouse in the West, which they are not. With Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix overshadowing Houston's season, he doesn't stand a chance against the likes of Nowitzki, Nash, or even Duncan who gets very little publicity. Also, even Kobe beats out Tmac, who doesn't have the wins, but without Bryant, the best player in the NBA, the Lakers are one of the teams lining up for ping-pong balls for Durant or Oden.

Absolutely no way about Vince Carter. Sure, his numbers were fine, but his team was a letdown this season considering they played in the worst division in basketball and still couldn't win it. Someone can't win MVP when his team had a losing record.

As for TMac, he makes a stronger case, and probably places 3rd behind Nash and Dirk. He really held the core of the Rockets together while Yao was out, and turned them into a very respectable team this year.

Vince Carter, no
Tracy McGrady, just short

I can't consider Vince Carter in the MVP race if he's on the decline, he has one of the best PGs of our generation feeding him the ball, and the Nets have fallen way short of expectations. I can't consider Vinsanity because his Nets finished 2nd in the Atlantic Division, the ATLANTIC division. And to who? the Toronto Raptors, the team he whined his way out of.

I'm a huge Tracy McGrady fan. I love what he's done with the Rockets, he should be in contention. He got a lot of help, though. Luther Head and Jeff Van Gundy stepped up in their respective roles, and he had some 7'6" guy in the post. T-Mac just didn't have as many big games as the rest of the candidates, but I maintain that Tracy is one of the most complete players in the NBA. The Rockets didn't end as well as they started, too.

all 3 of them ought to be, yet realistically they wont. CP3 and Lebron are enjoying dazzling these days and that they teach no indicators of combating! Billups has had the biggest result out of those 3. he has became the Nuggets around and has incredibly help out Melo in a manner no different participant has when you consider that he joined the league. if vince carter someway includes the Nets up the eastern convention and into the playoffs, then perhaps..perhaps. Shaq, im sorry to declare, isn't a MVP. nash continues to be the heart of that group and Shaq ought to be the soul, yet no longer a MVP. i anticipate CP3 to win it

VC can put up numbers but i wouldnt consider him and MVP candidate.
T-mac on the other hand i would consider and MVP candidate. But you cant really think that anyone is going to beat Dirk or Nash. They are the only two who are getting talked about. They are the only two that deserve it. But tmac held up his team while yao was out. but dirk or nash for sure.

Vince Carter shouldn't be cause he shows up in the 4th quarter a lot. and to be MVP you have to be there for the team the whole game. and also the Nets have a horrible record. and you have to have somewhat of a good record to win.

No, just because they play in a lot of games mean they should be MVP. I think the only person that has a chance against Nash is Nowitzki.

I believe T-Mac should, just not Vinny..
T-mac has much better numbers than Vinny, and he passes the ball more often, T-macs team if more successful, and the only reason people like Vinny is because he can dunk..Vinny is too overrated

i feel u with T mac but i would say next yr if he plays as much as he did this yr then yes, but Vince i think he is to inconsistant and his team is good enough to have a much better record than they have so i would say no to him.
