Isnt is strange that EVERY news story about todays college murders ALWAYS tag onto other past mass murders... why?
of all the recent killings, NOT ONE news story associated it with a past killing. why today?

But dont you find the "reporting" to be a bit strange today?

It may have the effect of desensitizing us to the news but providing perspective and background is what a journalist is supposed to do. When you have a situation like this, that doesn't happen every day, comparisons to similar events in the past are inevitable.

Actually, every story I've read brought up past incidents. I'm not sure you have a valid point. This happened earlier today. Authorities on site still don't know what happened. I wouldn't expect much in the way of detailed reports yet.
