Magnetic rocks are safe to put in the oven. The only thing that could happen is cracking or loss of magnetism (but that only happens when it is really hot).

Some rocks will explode . The one that got me was fools gold. It was pretty bad with hot pieces of rock blown all over the room . So be careful,definitely goggles for protection of the eyes . Gloves to handle any of the pieces ,and nothing near by that is flammable.
