I've always like Economics and if I had wanted to go to college longer than 4 years I might have tried it. I became an accountant instead and really don't have any passion for it. Should I go back to get a Masters or PhD in Econ in order to teach or research?

Only get a PhD if you really want to do research.

If you want one in economics, you should know that you need to know as much mathematics as a math major. If you haven't had linear algebra, statistics and some optimization theory -- it might be a hard couple of years in order to come up to speed.

while you will possibly not want a bachelors in economics to get right into a PhD software, you will want a bachelors in psychology to flow into the psychology PhD software. Your decision of bachelors dictates your strategies for a bachelors. yet you will possibly earn greater money in economics.

PhD = more money, and if your going to do it you might as well go all the way.
