The British ran up a huge debt. When they later tried to get the American Colonies to help pay this debt it led to "taxation without representation", increased hostility, then The American Revolution. Also I think the French lost the area that became Canada, and became a reduced influence in North America. This led to their support of the American Colonies in the Revolution, which was a major factor in our victory.
