It is virtually impossible to save that much in two years at 11.25 an hour. You might find life more pleasant if you change your attitude toward your fellow employees and customers. You are however doing a great job saving your money, a better job than about 95% of folks in your position. Keep it up and the impossible might very well become possible. It will help if you put those savings to work. Open an account with Fidelity and invest in a company like Coke or McDonalds or Procter and Gamble. That should help you achieve your goal.

You use the number of hours worked and divide it into the hourly wage. The average hours for a forty hour work week based on two weeks vacation is 2080. Of course if you are off for any reason then that number changes.

If you are working 40 hours per week, divide by 2080. Most salaried jobs do require more time than that, though, and you are not paid for overtime.

then divide $653.85/ 40 hrs = $16.35 / hour

take 34,000 divide by 12, and then divide by 22 (amount of work days in a month, then divide by 8
