Everyone is obviously upset over what happened at VA Tech today, but in listening to the first White House press conference I am worried. I am worried that the left is going to use this to try and pass more ridiculous gun control. We have a Constitutional amendment protecting our rights, but as we have seen the left does not care - about ANY of our rights. Take Imus for example. If Imus can be fired over a joke, imagine what they will try to do now that 32 people are dead.

With great power - the 2nd Amendment, comes great responsibility. We as a society have failed. We failed this young man, thus 32 people had to die. I don't know what his motives were, but I imagine this was not some random thing he decided to do. I am not saying feel sorry for the gunmen only, I feel sorry for all the victims. Like it or not, he himself and whom he killed are all victims. It should never have happened, but banning guns will not solve the problem of WHY.

truth is, the Brady bill team, made a minimum of three tries at gun administration contained in the previous year. The NRA keeps very, VERY close watch on any Congressional charges from the left meant to diminish or compromise our Rights. Obama and business organization will be socialistic leftists with innovative ideologies, yet they don't look and that i repeat, no longer stupid. i will't imagine of the different Constitutional project, extra untouchable by technique of Congress than this one. The backlash ought to deliver spasms down this countries backbone. answer: incorrect. Obama and his minions received't get into this project because they "understand" what ought to ensue. Do they help such controls ? examine out Obamas Czars ideologies about "gun controls" and also you may comprehend they "do" help the Brady bill bunch.

Virginia already has laws against carrying concealed weapons. It didn't stop Monday's tragedy. Why would further gun control laws prevent any further such attacks? Laws merely disarm those who adhere to them, not those who would use a gun in a crime anyway.

The saddest part about these things is that so soon afterward - hell the final body counts aren't even known yet - right away the zealots on both sides hit the airwaves, preying on the raw emotions of all of us.

After today, I clearly think there's a case to be made for gun control. This is the worst campus massacre in known history, and somehow I think he would've not killed so many people with a, let's say.......pocket-knife?

You CONnie gun-nuts cling to your uzis and assault rifles, I'm sure they aren't going away any time soon. In the mean time, say a prayer for the 32 people who aren't coming home tonight.

You can hold a gun rally at the campus, like Heston did after Columbine..... or you could just study the original intent behind the second amendment, which was to protect the people from bad govenment...... I suppose you think you are entitled to a F22 raptor so that you can protect yourself from the gov???? or perhaps a nuke or two???

The laws they pass are ineffective. So ineffective that it is possible and legal to own and fire a fully automatic weapon.

They would also have to pry alot of weapons from dead peoples hands to get them back.
