Why did FUNimation discontinue Dragonball GT?

I'm not sure why FUNimation discontinued DBZ. I guess because the whole Dragon Ball Z series had been shown on television and they wanted to show Dragon Ball GT. Dragon Ball Z was way better than Dragon Ball GT, and is my favorite anime cartoon of all time. I still think that they should have kept DBZ on TV though. I know that some new DVD's of the Dragon Ball Z series have already come out, and more will come in the coming months. With the new DVD's you can see DBZ in 1080p. I plan to buy the whole Dragon Ball Z series on DVD so that I can get my dose of DBZ whenever I want until I die.
