I have maternity clothes from last time and they are so uncomfortable. Even the panel pants/shorts sit tightly on my blatter and where the baby is sitting. Also, they are on my tummy and the baby is low so it is giving me stomache aches to have the elastic there. Any suggestions on maternity clothes comfort w/o looking like a dork? Thanks

I had this problem w/ sensitive tummy too. I would get horrid stomach cramps from having a waistband just a tiny bit too tight. I wore a lot of sundresses (lived in FL with my last baby), and those pants with the low under-belly support panel instead of the over-belly stretch panels. Muuuch more comfy for me, although it did take a bit of getting used to (I didn't grow up in the hip-hugger jeans era). Wearing more dresses really solved much of the problem for me, though.

I hope this helps some!

Going from regular clothes, to maternity clothes, the panels were comfortable. However, the panels were always itchy and annoying to me. Old Navy makes maternity pants that have a natural waist, maybe consider those. If you are working, maybe dresses would be more appealing to you as well. However, if you are home all the time, I say 100% lounge pants that can be loosely tied below your belly. Best of Luck

With my subsequent pregnancies I did not wear any more skirts or pants with the high elastic panels. They drove me crazy! I wore all the low panel clothes that sit under your belly. You can get these used but in great shape on Ebay. I look for name brands like Old Navy, Motherhood and Oh Mamma! or Baby and Me.

You might want to cut down on the shorts and pants, too. I switched to mostly dresses this time and it made a HUGE difference. No waistband!

Every time I am pregnant I LIVE in skirts and dresses. They are so much easier on an expanding belly, and they can still look fashionable. With elastic banded skirts, I just buy the skirt long and hike it up above my belly!! lol Just make sure you have a long enough top to conceal the waist line :)
