These days, unless it's from a family member or loved one, a gift is free... But with strings attached. If you get an e-mail saying that you're entitled to a free gift, it's a sure bet that they want you to buy something that will undoubtedly cost much more than the gift itself. So keep your eyes open, and remember the old saying about "If it sounds too good to be true..."

There are no free gifts, if it comes in the mail free there is small printing saying you have so many day's to cancel some membership......If you get a gift from a friend to be curtious you should gift her one back so nothing is a free gift!

Good point.Who told you that anyway?Gift is actually something that a person offers to another one on (usually) a special occasion to show friendship and/or love to the other person.Isn't it supposed to be free then?I personally never heard of gifts for which you have to pay!

they call it a free gift when companies give 'free' stuff. I mean, what more enticing? "come and get your gift" or "come and get your free gift"
the word free is like a lure, you are drawn by the free gift and THEN comes the catch.

No - because you have to buy something to get it!
A magazine have free gifts sometimes - but to get the gift - you have to buy the magazine..
Or
Food items - you have to collect points - so buy loads of the product and then with what you have spent - you could have bought it yourself cheaper - but end up spending at least twice the price to get it "free"
