2 years is bull.
With the divorce rate the way it is and with most people thinking their mates have to be perfect for them in every little way, shape and form, I say marry before the bloom is off the rose and you may have a better chance at forever than couples who get married after a gazili\lion years of dating, and taking their time (which means looking to be sure nobody better is coming along) and then on and on and on until their friends and family no longer even care if they are together or not.
Romance is key and you have the rest of your life to learn about eachother, so get married and maybe in the learning process you will also realize that you have to stay together in order to work things out. The first couple years are for smoothing out the rough edges, not for judging the merits of the person you may or may not want to continue to spend time with.
If you love, then marry, just that simple.

OK so you've already moved in together so that's fine. Give it time. There is really no specified "time" but you will know if you are good candidates for marriage (or not) at some point and then you can make the decision. Just enjoy each other for now. What's the rush? Too many marriages end in divorce these days and I believe marriage truly is sacred, or at least should be considered as such. Good Luck to you!

Since he's already asked and I assume you accepted this may be a moot point. As you begin to sort out who you are as a couple and how you approach life, make decisions, etc., the right time to get married will most likely be obvious.....or not. Getting engaged doesn't insure getting married. Does being in your thirties give you a better chance? Not particularly as age doesn't necessarily insure maturity..

My boyfriend and I are talking about getting married. We are both 24.And have been together about 2 or 3 months. I am moving in with him in 2 months. The feelings that we have for eachother are like nothing anyone I know has ever seen. People that see us together cannot believe that it has been such a short amount of time.

God, sounds like my wife and I. We been going strong for years now.
Interesting note: Did you know that research shows that couples who live together before marriage have a much higher divorse rate than people who don't live together first???? I found that interesting.
But yes, we did live together first............Probably the biggest question is not the amount of time courting, but the values they had before they met. Does each person understand what marriage is? And are they not only commited to each other but to marriage as as a whole????

my husband and I began dating one year in August, moved in together in October and were married at the end of December. He was 29 and I was 32. We have been married for 5 and a half years. We have struggled but are now very happy.

They usually say to know someone for a year before you get married, but it can work, and it has worked for others. You can know someone for many years and then get married, only to get divorced 4 months later. It's a give and take situation and only the two of you can make it work if you really want it to. Good luck to you.

It totally depends on the couple.
What scares me is that you sound like moving in together after two months is no big deal, it's just the marriage part that you question.
Some couples just know they love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together after a short period of time.
Unfortunanly, couples divorce after years and years of marriage.
I just don't think the time before marriage it the key factor

That is faster then most but "time limits" are foolish. You should trust your feelings and if it seems right, get engaged. I would have the engagement last at least 6 months though. You really don't know someone until you have lived with them for at least a year.
Good luck
