Well, first, note that birds presumably descended from a branch of the group of theropod dinosaurs called the coelurosaurs. Coelurosaurs included Tyrannosaurs and Velociraptors among others. Birds were already around when Tyrannosaurs first appeared, so although they're related, they're more like distant descendants of T. rex cousins than direct descendants.
Second, it's been a looooong time between theropods and birds. Genes have been gained and lost; some lost by 'turning off' but left in place (like the gene that controls tooth development), but probably lots more lost by missing bits of the gene code. It may be possible to reconstruct some of the ancient bird genome that is now inactive, but that doesn't mean that you would or could get a dinosaur. You can't change the carburetor and transmission and a few other parts in a Ford Mustang and end up with a Model T (to make a very poor analogy). Still, it's going to be interesting to keep trying to find dinosaur proteins and build up some sort of library to compare with bird and other group proteins, now that it appears to be possible.

Through a very long line of genetics yes. Dinosaurs like the T-Rex later evolved into creatures like birds. Some birds are even closer to dinosaurs then other reptiles. Chicken maybe not so much though. But yes a T-Rex is related to a chicken.

All birds are the two related to Tyrannosaurus rex. Fossil information shows that the ancestor of T. rex had primitive feathers, and to this point as all of us understand, feathers basically developed as quickly as, in small predatory dinosaurs. this is those comparable dinosaurs that still split into the evolutionary line that bring about Velociraptors, Archaeopteryx and finally... chickens. This relatively makes all birds extant dinosaurs, and as such, the closest kinfolk of extinct ones, like Tyrannosaurus rex.

I think the government has already started creating T Rex's from chicken genes. That's why they cancelled the X Files. Moulder and Skully would have exposed this.

while chickens are indeed the closest living relatives to the T-Rex, no genes can be extracted that resemble them enough to revive the extinct dinosaur.

Great. We'll soon have 20 foot tall chickens that can eat US for breakfast.

Well according to like biologists. But if your Christian of believe in God, then you probably don't think so, because you believe God created the world, not evolution. That makes sense...in my mind...Lol.
