Here we go again............... Hmmmmm, I wonder what every pregnant woman on here will say!?! My opinion is that these questions are better asked somewhere else. What is with people trying to rile up a bunch of pregnant women with abortion questions? I think yahoo should add an abortion forum so everyone can rant and rave somewhere else.........

absolutely without a doubt abortion should be illegal. As of this moment in time abortion is the only legalized murder in the world. Why did I say at this time? Because down the road they will try to legalize euthanasia for people at the end of their life. Sanctity of life begins in the womb and continues until that person leaves this earth. With rape- I know it is a horrible thing- but the child still has a right to life- we should not condemn the child for the sin of the father. Some people will say, if we make abortion illegal there will be back street abortions again, and it will be unsafe for the woman- to be completely honest, there is no safe abortion. Let us stop killing babies and calling it choice.

Personally I am pro-life. I would never choose an abortion for myself and I don't feel it is an acceptable option the majority of the time. There are certain circumstances that I think merit an abortion. Medical emergencies (such as a fatal pregnancy for the mother, etc.)

I do NOT however, feel that abortion should be illegal. I strongly believe that some women will have an abortion whether it is legal or not, and some people will perform abortions (for outrageous fees) even if they were illegal. The only way to monitor the quality and sanitation standards and cost is to keep them legal.

I feel it should not be illegal. People do not always know others reasoning for getting one. In my opinion I think it should be illegal after a certain date.
What if the mother is very sick, and they are positive that if she carried the baby, they would both die, or something?
I feel you have to have a heartbeat to be alive. The heart develops in the 5th week.
So I think aborting prior to a heart beat, is ok.
It is a group of cells, it is getting rid of an opportunity.
An opportunity for a baby. But not yet getting rid of a baby.
I think if people feel that aren't able to do it, take care of a baby, due to special needs, or after being raped, and having a hard time looking at that child, yet they feel that they couldn't carry a child, and then give it up for adoption. Then I am understanding of that to because look at all the kids out there, who are neglected, or killed by a parent......if they feel they just can't do it. They just can't do it.
I do think you should only be allowed so many also.
I mean it's not like it is a form of birth control. And if you do get one, you should definitely take the proper per cautions so an unwanted pregnancy doesn't occur again.

If your child was RAPED by her father or brother or stranger and became pregnant, would an abortion ease your mind.
I had a friend in high school, she was 15, that was raped by her father and ended up pregnant and wanted an abortion but her mother wouldn't let her because they were catholic. She had the baby and it's mentally handicapped. It's no way for her or the child to live. Abortion is not a form of birth contol, but it does have its good points. To abhor an abortion and prevent someone who needs one is selfish in my mind. She has to remember what her daddy did to her every time she looks at her son.She relives the embarassment she had at school when everyone knew she had no boyfriend and they eventually found out her dad molested her. Abortions should NOT be illegal for these reasons.

No of course not!!! Making it illegal will not stop it, It would still be practiced but illegally in back street clinics. Many girls would die of infections at the hands of unquaified people making money out of it. It will ALWAYS go on and the sooner these pro-lifers accept that the better. I personally do not agree with late abortions but thankfully they are few and far between, whatever the pro-lifers would have u believe

No. My life was saved because I was able to choose an abortion without jumping through hoops or waiting for a committee to decide my fate. A lot of Women do end up needing a choice and you often think that it won't be you until it is!

Coupled with that, I don't think that anyone is so heartless as to force a rape or incest victim to further be victimized for nine plus months just to make a political statement about all pregnancies. I could not imagine the torture that would be and thankfully I don't have to.

With choice, it really is all for one and one for all. The same choice that allowed me to quickly save my life and end the pain is the same choice that allows another woman who wasn't doing anything to prevent a pregnancy to choose to end it. If you take away her choice because you feel she was irresponsible (which if you think she's irresponsible, why do you want someone like that having and raising a child?), you take away my choice as well. It is all connected.

I also do not believe that the government, full of lawyers and rich business men, has any right to tell me which medical procedures I can undergo and which I cannot. That decision should be up to me since it is my body and should be made in congress with my doctor, family, and conscience.

You may not agree with or like abortion but it is needed. I needed an abortion to save my life and I am truly thankful that I did not have to wait to obtain one. In the past when abortion was illegal, a woman in my position would have had to wait up to a couple of weeks for the condition to get so bad that I was in risk of imminent death or a hospital committee, made up of men, made the decision for me. In pregnancy, every second counts especially when something goes wrong with that pregnancy. I had something go wrong and I immediately chose an abortion. It saved my life and I did not have to wait for anyone elses approval to get one. Waiting would have proved deadly for me and for many other women like me.

You may not like abortion but it has always existed and will always exist whether it is legal or not. When you make it illegal, you push it underground and make it unsafe which in turn means that you have more women dying to assert control over their bodies and lives. I would rather see a woman obtain a safe, legal abortion than I would see her die from a botched, illegal, unsafe abortion. The abortion is going to occur either way. The only way to stop it is to stop the unintended pregnancy from occurring in the first place. Despite our best efforts (I and many women like me were on birth control when we became pregnant), sometimes it just happens. Thankfully, though, we have the tools available to us to make sure that motherhood is a freely chosen, voluntary status, not one that is forced upon us.
Peace,
Jenn

No...it is a womans choice in my opinion but i do think it should not be legal to get one past a certain point the baby really isn't much of a baby at 4 weeks its heart isn't even in the chest yet and doesn't have any other organs so thats okay but when they are a certain age like 10 weeks maybe it should be...just me and my opinion though

I do NOT think abortion should be legal. Abortion is killing a baby. Babies should not be treated like a thing that is optional to have if your doing the one thing that creates them. There is a clear way of how babies get here. If you don't want a baby, don't make a baby.

As for those women who didn't have a choice (i'll avoid the negative words) about "making a baby," I respect the difficult situation you may be in. I encourage you to keep the baby, love the baby, and remember that all things happen for a reason.

Yes it should be! Many women use abortion as a form of birth control and that's just wrong! If you can lay down and have the fun then you have to take responsibility for the "loads of fun" your going to have from a baby as the final result.

Besides, I have read some of the procedures they do to women for abortion, one of them is the doctor taking sharp scissors and putting them into the skull of the baby causing the baby's skull to colapse therefore killing the baby. That's pure murder and extremely cruel!

Other women decide that they want an abortion because they were a victim of rape? SO FREAKIN WHAT... if you don't love the baby regardless then give it up for adoption, these women who desp want kids and can't have any don't care if that baby is concieved from a rape they just want a happy healthy baby.

Even if a baby is born from incest that doesn't mean that the baby will be mentally handicapped even if the baby does have mental and physical handicaps there are lots of children who do in this world and most of them are well loved as they are. I believe God doesn't bring any child into this world for no reason. It's not that he wants to see them suffer but better yet it's that they are special children in his eyes and I believe that to anyone they are a blessing as they have special ability's as well and are very sweet people even into adult hood.
LIFE ISN'T FAIR GET OVER IT, BESIDES IT'S ALL A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE AS TO WHAT IS FAIR. Just because some women don't want to be burdened with children with special needs does not mean they should kill their baby!

My children are perfectly normal but I have worked with children as well as adults that were mentally and physically handicapped for various reasons and they loved living, every single one of them. So some of you can't feed me any BS about how they shouldn't live b/c they have handicapps for me it's no different than someone who suffers from depression or someone who is severely damaged from a carwreck, or better yet someone who was born a dwarf or born without arms or legs or both. EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO LIVE! It's not fair to play God and decide who should live and who should die PERIOD!
