I've been looking for new music. And I haven't found anything that stands out. I'm more in the the new stuff ('00+), like melodic, death, nu-, etc. metal. I also once heard this metal band with an orchestra in the background and an organ on top of that. I loved it but never found out what it was called. Anyone have any clues?

Could be Pica Fierce. I think they did a gig with an orchestra. Some other famous bands (like Deep Purple) tried it, but it was not a good combo...

There is The Transiberian Orchestra.
Iced Earth I think has an Organ going on a couple of their tracks.

Sorry, can't tell you the name of the band.

I recommend Mindless Self Indulgence and The Giraffes.
Many of my friends have told me to check out Trivium.
