I have been charting for about a week and a half with a regular digital thermometer, but it was not sensitive enough. So I just bought a basel thermometer. The thing is my cycle is all screwed up since comming off bc. I am on day 46 and still had no period (about 7 weeks now). So I can not start using it on my first cycle day cause I have no idea when that will be. My doc told me to just start temping and that way I wil have some sort of a chart. SO can I just switch thermometers starting tomorow morning and make a note of the switch on my calender? What do you think?
THanks for the help!

You can switch immediately and keep taking oral temps. Just note that your temps will read consistently lower on the basal thermometer.

Even though you haven't had a period yet, you can observe your mucus to see when you are ovulating. Your temps will also rise after you have ovulated.

Hi, you can stop with the temps., and try a herb called Vitex, I have not used contraceptives for atleast 15 years and never got pregnant, but at the time I never worried about it, but, 3 years ago I started to want a baby and went to 2 different fertility doctors for the last 3 years, took clomid and every test they could think of, got frustrated arounf V-day and googled "how do you get pregnent?", and healthboard.com came up talking about the Vitex, I took the pills for 3 days during ovulation and I am currently 10 weeks pregnant, I can still hardly believe it go to the web page and search for Vitex, I wish you luck.................

I agree- switch immediately and in all honest I would take it rectally... it's the most sensitive.
