Not a gun owner here... but not a "lib" either.
Resist not on the basis of the SECOND Amendment but the TENTH. I cannot for the life of me see how the Second Amendment pertains to present day America. It states that we have the right to bear arms for the purpose of RAISING A MILITIA. Today, we have a paid, professional militia, funded by our taxes. I'll bet if someone joined the Army and brought along his personally owned side-arm or rifle, they'd be told to leave it at home. So we don't need to own firearms for the purpose of RAISING A MILITIA for the defense of the country.
HOWEVER... I will defend to the END your right to bear arms under the TENTH Amendment, which states, in essence, that just because we did not spell out a specific right in these amendments does not mean that they do not exist. This same amendment is what the so-called "Right to Privacy" is based upon, and why we have legal abortions today.
So there you have MY 2-cents... and my 2 points! Thanks!

The guns used were not likely to have been purchased legally anyway. You can hardly control gun crimes if you can't control illegal gun sales. The libs won't do anything. They'd be fighting the wrong people - the law abiding gun owners - and they wouldn't be getting at the root of the problem which is the criminal element who would just continue to buy weapons the way they always have - illegally.

I'll simply let the government know that after they have disarmed all the illegal immigrants and gangbangers, and other criminals, I'll think about possibly giving up my right to own a gun. But until our safety is guaranteed and our laws are enforced against all these bad people, every American Citizen should be required to own and know how to use a gun and/or other weapons for self defense.

Will you people just GET OFF of this idiocy regarding liberals taking your precious guns away? It's not gonna happen, believe me.
But what always fascinates me is the passionate love affair that some people seem to have with guns.
Like, you're ever going to get the chance to draw your piece and defend yourself in a life or death situation...
I've spent a good deal of my life in what you might consider fairly dangerous urban territory; hanging with various unsavory characters, carrying good amounts of cash, late at night. Was I fearful? No, but wasn't stupid either. I just knew the risks involved and the territory.
American children are more at risk from firearms than the children of any other industrialized nation. In one year, firearms killed no children in Japan, 19 in Great Britain, 57 in Germany, 109 in France, 153 in Canada, and 5,285 in the United States."
Do you know that your chances of being murdered are 18,000 to 1 and the chance of getting colo-rectal cancer is 1 in 26?
If I were you, I'd quit polishing the Smith & Wesson and start eating more broccoli and fiber, lol.

Some people use guns for hunting, and then there are others who have guns for protection. Nothing wrong with that as long as they are responsible and keep them in a safe place.
And then TEACH their children boundaries.

I'm not a gun owner, but guns are simply tools.
What if a nation-wide ban on guns HAD taken place, but then someone goes on a mass killing spree with a chainsaw? Are we going to ban all other sharp, pointy objects as well?
