the term "shemale" is derogatory as it pertains mostly to the porn industry. The correct terms are "transwoman" for male to female transsexuals, or "intersexed" if they happen to have been born that way. Or, in Thailand, they refer to themselves as "ladyboys".

From what little personal experience and from what I've been able to read up on about Hermaphrodites in the human species, they tend to live life either as a male(if they are so inclined by their own personal feelings) or as a woman(again, the same here too). For the most part, these folks tend to AVOID situations which pit them with persons whom could possibly exploit them(whether financially or sexually) for the other persons personal gain.
