I think it odder that he is can afford a house while working as a fry cook. On the other hand, there must be hundreds of things that are even odder. I would vote for the fact that they can build a fire under water. I am many, many years above SpongBob's target age group and I find this show hilarious.

first of all its a cartoon but wat freaks me out that nothing floats in that sea and how did that squirrel sandy made a water free home and how mister crab has a daughter that is a whale and why is spong bobs house is a pineapple and why spong bobs naighbor has a huge nose.
but its super funny!
