I have a camera that cost me over $200 dollars and my sister wants to use it but I don't want her to because she might break it and there's no way she can recompensate me for it. She's been bugging me for a week now, and I've told her no repeatedly, but lately it's started to feel wrong... should let her see it? Is it a sin not to share?

And I've let her see things of mine that didn't cost a lot in the past, but she did end up breaking or losing them, so that is why I'm so reluctant to letting her use my stuff now.

If your sister is anything like my sister was and is, you will forbid her to use something that cost you a good deal of money that she may not be responsible enough to borrow.
I cannot BEGIN to tell you how many possessions, clothes, jewelry, my sister wrecked in her youth and all her life really...No way, after awhile, was I ever going to let her borrow anything of mine, since her history with me was one of carnage to my goods!
It's wise and smart to not share with those who do not treat your things nicely/kindly/responsible...It's just plain stupid.
Do some religious fanatics consider this a "sin" - of course they do, and let us hope you are not one of them.
Common sense and logic, are just that...if you don't exercise your God given brain into understanding this, that would be, your biggest all time "sin" of all.

it depends on how old is your sister , how responsible she is , how much she knows in handling a camera and how much you love and trust her. As for the sin I do not think , if sin there is, that it will be equal to the invasion of Poland by Hitler.Imagine God sending you to hell because you did not allow your sister to use your camera.

No, it's not a sin to not share. If you don't feel comfortable with her borrowing it, then you don't have to. Keep telling her NO. What if you do let her borrow it & something happens to it? Are you willing to forgive her for it or will you be questioning us again if not forgiving is a sin? My best advice is DON'T LET HER BORROW IT.

It is NOT a sin to not to share. Especially, when your sister might break it.

personally i had the same problem and I told my sister no and she moved on not like your going to die over it but sometime maybe if you see she can be responsible maybe let her borrow it a couple times.

i think your not sharing it for a good cause, because you don't want her to break it, but if you are starting to feel bad about it then maybe you should share it, you'll probabaly feel better
