Nope; the rent for that beachhouse can only be counted as a deduction if it was for a business expense, and your friend is itemizing their deductions. But you will probably have a hard time proving that a week's vacation at the beach was a business expense. ;-)

No, unless it was for a business trip for work or to visit her rental property in that area.
