Anyone who is going to complain about a clean hit shouldn't be a fan of hockey. Yes, players still get hurt with them, but it's part of the sport. Just like in any other aspect of life, accidents happen. A player goes to make a clean hit and sometimes the impact has more of an effect than was anticipated as was the hit on Eaves last night. It happens...

Now the hits from behind and/or the malicious hits need to be reprimanded. Those are what give hockey a bad face in the general public's eyes

Are you talking about Patrick Eaves? You don't really say. Even Bryan Murray, Ottawa's coach, said that it was clean and just "one of those things." So there really isn't anything to cry about. There have been some other hits, however, that were not so innocent. The hit on Scuderi in that same game was a hit from behind. Those hits need to go. Colby Armstrong's hit on Eaves, though, was just part of the sport. These guys know what they are getting into, and they are getting paid a lot of money to do it. One feels badly for them when it gets hurt, but there it is. If he knew it was going to happen, he likely would still have been out there. That's hockey.

Well, here we go again. People complaining about players getting checked. I agree, We should just ban any hitting in the game of hockey and just skate up and down the ice.

If players don't want to get hit, the need to get into figure skating.

I'm getting sick of people talking about Alexander Radulov checking the San Jose player. That was a clean check, I was at the game and I've seen the replay many times. San Jose is just whining because Nashville is a better league than they are!

Hockey without hitting sucks. I never adjusted to no hitting once I got passed the age of 25 and all the men's leagues were NBC.
Taking hitting out of hockey is like asking major league baseball to go to T-Ball rules.
LMAO

The Big Shot: What ESPN sports would hockey be knocking off of your viewing habits? Poker? Bowling? Nascar? ESPN shows way more non-sports that I can't believe people actually watch. I would be fine with a couple of hockey games taking over the timeslot currently occupied by professional Underwater Basket Weaving. How about we look at banning you?

I just don't like cheap shots. Regardless if its hockey, basketball or football. People who cheap shot are the lowest of the low for me. I'm all for a physical battle on the ice but when its apparent that it is a cheap shot I find that distasteful. As a shark fan yes I was mad about the whole cheech thing but I found myself even madder over the Bernier thing. There was no excuse for what Raduluv did. I equate that to something in football say when that guy cheapshoted Trent Green. THERE IS NO EXCUSE!

All I want to see, is what you have to say, when that your precious little Sydney, or Malkin on the recieving end of that hit. You people who say its clean, and thats hockey, how many of you have been on the recieving end of a hit like that, let me know???

I haven't seen the hit but I haven't heard anyone calling it a dirty hit either. Nevertheless, did anyone see the Phaneuf hit on Datsyuk yesterday? He elbowed Pavel in the face and knocked off his helmet - Datsyuk was fine and got right up but just because he wasn't injured doesn't make it a fair hit.

Ever notice that nobody starts crying about the hits unless it's someone on THEIR favorite team who gets knocked around. All hits on them are dirty, but the hits they make are clean as a whistle...

Let's Go Pens!!!
