Hello Lex
Well this is a tough one I must say.
As to your operating system I would expect your system would have no problems. The clock is controlled by a battery on your motherboard so I doubt you would have any problems there.
Most likely you might be asked to run your system in safe mode to ensure that no data is lost.
If you are working on an unsaved application, for instance a word document, if you have auto save on then your system might be able to revert to the old copy.
As for browsing the Internet if you use the latest Firefox, the application will relaunch and open all old windows, this is not the case for Internet Explorer.
The biggest risk is to the system as a electrical device. Once my screen blew, as I did not use a surge protective extension lead, and I had to replace the fuse.
Having said that the risk is low but there are many problems that can occur.
Generally you will have to start again.
All the best

Like a lot of things it the computer would, it depends. It the power failure is on your side of the line the you have not pressed the send/submit/update button/icon you will generally loose what is on the screen and the data/information that was "inflight" (ie the information that was on its way back to the central site computer). When you get back on line you will have to re-establish the prior link/connection and the remember where you left off. This is by far the easier connection to fix. It the power went out on the server side it is usually a more serious issue. The worst case would be that everything since the last backup could be lost. However these days most sites have raid drives and other emergency equipment so that perhaps the only thing you may have lost was what transpired in the last few minutes. It also depends on where you were adding or updating material. If you were adding you may have to re all all of the data again. If just updating you probably lost very little.

Your PC will re-boot when power comes back. Some files will have been damaged but windows will normally recover and let you restart your project. In a worst case an important file will be damaged and you will need to re-install. Get a UPS if you're bothered.

a suddon cut of power can damage the processor and graphics card, and maybe some files on the hard drive. but your computer might just start booting up again as normal.

You have to reboot & in most cases will have lost some of what you were doing.
I have Firefox & when I reboot if I was on the internet It will ask me if I want to restore my session or to start a new one.
It seems to take me back to where I was, although I don't always know if I lost some thing or not.
