Goodwill, Salvation Army, or any number of charities would be most happy and appreciative for the donation. There are many charities other than the Big Ones.
Some charities will actually come out and take it for free and with a big "thankyou".
Newspapers are also good for this. :)
Good for you for doing this!
----edit...
To what Rich Z said... he is correct. It does depend upon the State. I know that in the States in which I lived it was done (California and Maryland's Eastern Shore). They might be a little stricter if it has stains or tears, which it sounds like yours does not.
Just call around.
Cccc: that works in some States and areas. In MY little slice of heaven in Ohio I would actually be fined for that. :P People did that in Maryland's Eastern Shore all the time though.

Depending on where you live there are plenty of places that will take a good condition matress. Salvation Army is just one. You may also want to look for adoption centers where children are waiting to be adopted or foster children. Also, homeless shelter's and I believe the American Red Cross will help you with that also. Good Luck

Most organized donation places (like Salv Army) will not take it - saying state law prohibits it.
List it on freecycle.org. They do their donations as individuals so their rules are looser.
