Just so you know, I have irregular periods due to PCOS and yes I am planning to start fertility treatment in June. Last month my cycle was 74 days, really long even for me, but I did ovulate on day 59 as confirmed by my BBT and a progesterone test by my doc. i'd prefer not to go this long without a period so shoudl i just take the provera. i don't think i'll get pregnant this month and not sure if i would want to since usually there are issues with eggs when ovulation is delayed. i have the provera so should i take it? serious answers only!

FYI- Of course I have already spoken to my doc. He wrote the prescription. He also wrote me a precription last time and then I ovulated before I started the provera.

Hi, Roc. I would go ahead and take the Provera to jump start your cycle. As you know (I saw your mention) the egg itself, when released so late is damaged. If an egg takes to long to mature, it can develop poorly. This can lead to an defective egg and, if fertilized, a miscarriage. Late ovulation has been found to be a link in miscarriages in some studies. Take the provera and proceed with your fertility plan. Best wishes and God Bless.

I also have pcos and i hadn't had a period in a year and i have been trying to get pregnant but my doctor told me that without a period you donut ovulate so if i donut ovulate i cant get pregnant. i am on provera and with out it i wont have a period so if i were you yes i would take it. I finally got my period a day ago and i will be starting on clomid in a few days. with us the best thing to do is to go to the Dr evreymonth and get your period going with provera or a shot. because with out it we will never be able to conceive a baby. so if i were you i would make sure i take it every month till you conceive. Good Luck!!!!!

I think I would go ahead and take it if I were you. Especially since you take it for 10 days and may have to wait 2 weeks after the last pill to get your period. If you ever have the option between the pills and the shot, I say take the shot you don't have as long to wait with that. Good luck with the fertility treatments!!!

No it in straight forward terms cleans out the thick lining of your uterus through no longer having your era, so as that your cycle can start up afresh and then in case you elect for to grow to be prego, your rfile. might prescribe clomide for you. sturdy luck!

I honestly think that this is a question that you need to be asking your doctor, not us. Call him/her up and let them know what your question is, it's their job to make sure you are informed!

This is a serious question that should be answered by your doctor only, not people here. Please consider that before taking advice from Yahoo answers.
