find the percent when the amount and base are known

amount / base = percent

let

13 = amount

50 = base

divide 13 by 50

13 / 50 = 0.26

Multiply 100 times 0.26 and attach the % symbol

100 x 0.25 = 26%

The percent is 26

13 is 26% of 50

If you only got 13 out of 50 answers correct, you would get a grade of 26%. You can find this by dividing the number of correct answers by the total of all answers: 13/50=.26 or 26%

percent is out of 100. 13 out of 50 would equal 26 out of 100 (double top number and bottom number).

In order to get a 63 percent on a 50 point test you'd have to get 31.5 of them right
