Why is it that Liberals think promiscuity is OK?

Before I answered this question I wanted to read the responses people gave you and I was shocked and saddened at the immorality of some of the people who answered. Kinda makes STD's a sort of just punishment if you're going to be a tramp (male or female version).
They think it's okay because basically no one taught them right from wrong. BAD parenting. It's EASY to be a parent and let your kids do whatever they want. "The toughest job you'll ever love" is being a parent who instills morals and values and who makes their child pay some consequence when rules (that are for their own good) aren't followed.
My parents were great parents and I am trying to be too. My kids tell me that they are going to raise their kids the way they were raised --with values and love.

Conservatives DO NOT teach our children that sex is a bad or dirty thing. We teach them it is AWESOME with a loving spouse. We also teach them to respect that spouse by not ogling other people. I have NEVER felt attracted to another man in 25 years - but then again - I was lucky enough to marry a hottie! (He really is but all wives should feel that way!)

Morality is not a dirty word to me; but I do have some issues with how conservatives use it as a psychological crowbar to try to weasel religion into politics.

I would venture to say that promiscuity is probably evenly distributed between the two major political parties.

I encourage people almost every day of the week to opt for marriage - as opposed to just "shacking-up" or forever wading in the "dating pool."

For the love of God, will you STOP trying to paint all "liberals" as the scum of the earth. This habit, in itself, invalidates your postings.

I can introduce you to as many liberals as you like who have been married for a long time and have wonderful families - just like the conservatives.

Gee! Imagine that! We have common aspects!

It isn't promiscuity that Liberals support, it's the right to self-determination. As long as the actions of a person are not harmful to other people, leave them alone! If you're talking about what happens between two consenting adults, I say mind your own business. "Judge not lest ye be judged"

I don't think it's a dirty word... but I think you can ask 10 people in the U.S. "WHAT IS MORAL?" and get 8 different answers, on average...

and it's a free country with many different social groups and religious groups... that that naturally would happen...

so... that becomes quite a problem... naturally, espeically when some people see their morals as being absolute and won't even discuss the issues and problems of legislating morals...

and it all goes MUCH deeper than just sex... that's like 20 percent, tops, of it really..

It is ok to be promiscuous, as long as you are safe. That is nobody's business but your own. I, however, cannot sleep around. It doesn't do anything for me. I only like to have sex with people I like and know and respect. However, a lot of people just like to F#@%. Who are you to judge??? They can do whatever they want. If you don't want any diseases, then don't sleep around. It's that simple. I know for a fact that there are many diseases that can be caught even while using a condom such as HPV or herpes. That's also a reason that I don't sleep around. However, It's not ALL liberals. You don't have to generalize and I'm sure that Republicans do their fair share of sleeping around too.

So, who died and made you God anyway?????

Liberals are just the ones that want good sex education to be taught to our kids so that they can make informed decisions and be safe. What good do republicans see coming out of abstinence only education anyway??? As a teenager, didn't you want to do EVERYTHING you were told not to do? And without the proper knowledge to do it safely, many more kids will get pregnant and catch diseases. Aren't you guys the same people that want to ban abortions too??? Well, if we educated our kids and provided cheap and easily accessible birth control, I'm sure we'd reduce the numbers of abortions too.

As to disease.
The report just out says abstinence only students have sex the same ages and as often as other students. I wonder what the rate of STD occurrence is?

Since when did liberals say sleep around and get aids? Whatever happened to individual liberty and protected freedoms? Where does it say in the Bill of Rights that procreation is wrong?

Why do conservatives insist that people have a right to bear arms - resulting in fatal shootings that we are witnessing today - yet insist that promiscuity is somehow worse????

Safety first! Condoms protect, guns DONT - clearly!

Well, promiscuity doesn't cause the disease...in fact, the highest number of new cases of sexually transmitted diseases comes from women in monogamous relationships...they assume their partner is faithful, and so don't use protection. Those who are promiscuous are better at protecting themselves. I never understood why my doctor would ask me if I should be screened...they always ask 'are you in a monogamous relationship?' and i say yes...but I cannot say with that same certainity that HE is, so please test me.' We really need to concentrate on educating those in relationships to the possibility. Oh, and it was liberals that have fought so hard to get sex ed taught so that people CAN protect themselves.

Not all liberals think promiscuity is okay. I bet not even half of liberals think promiscuity is okay. We do believe that people can choose to be promiscuous or not though. Do you hold Gingrich to the same standard?

This is one of the areas where I totally disagree with most conservatives,what two or three or ten consenting adults do with each other is no ones business but their own. As long as their actions hurt no one but potentially themselves,then the government has zero place in telling them what to do. And I really never have seen why any particular persons sex life is anyone elses business.
