Robson Street. Right downtown. It is half very touristy, half upscale. Lots of good restaurants too. Usually busy. From there you can also go over to Pacific Centre Mall and HBC - The Bay.

The two previous answerers are accurate.

You could also go to Park Royal mall which is in West Vancouver.---(Just North heading over the Lion's Gate Bridge)

Another street just north of Robson St. by Burrard is Alberni St. They have some other brand name stores.

Start at the corner of Robson & Burrard. Within an easy walk of two blocks or so you'll find Roots, Tiffanys, Cartier, Louis Vuiton and numerous other high end establishments, as well as numerous other shops and Malls, such as Pacific Centre, and department stores.
