QUOTE
"Angry crowds in several Indian cities burned effigies of Richard Gere, a day after he swept up Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty in his arms and kissed her several times during an Aids-awareness event.
In Mumbai, members of the right-wing Hindu nationalist group Shiv Sena set fire to glamour shots of Shetty and beat burning effigies of Gere with sticks.
Similar protests broke out in other cities, including Varanasi, Hinduism's holiest city, and in the northern town of Meerut, where crowds chanted "Down with Shilpa Shetty."

Strange isn't it, Jade Goodey insults Shilpa in big brother and the Indians scream Racial Abuse.
Richard Gere kisses Shilpa and the Indians Scream dishonour.
Just exactly how one is supposed to appease these people is beyond me.
My Father who spent time in India told me that it was common practice for Indian parents to throw female babies into the river as they saw them as little value and very costly.
Perhaps they shout at the indiscretions of others to hide their own bloodthirsty and murdering past.

Some people just love making protests - they look for any excuse. Shilpa Shetty is a grown up who will do her own thing and she enjoys the publicity.
I think protesting over this incident with Richard Gere is pathetic - there was no offence intended, but the extremists use this type of incident to publicise their cause. Fortunately, these fanatics are in the minority.

Because of sexual selection, in which boys are much more favored than girls in India and China, a lot of young men are growing up extremely frustrated. It is estimated 2 million selective abortions are being performed in India every year. This means that although the parents feel this is desirable, a great number of young men will grow up without the prospect of a suitable bride. It has become more common for brothers to share a wife.
This is due in part to the dowry system in India. Girls have come to be seen as a liability for families. The Indian government is aware of the problem and uncertain as to what steps to take. Making selective abortions illegal may drive parents to the black market and erode support for the government.
So when so many young men are frustrated and unable to marry in a society that is sorely lacking in women, it is not surprising to see them get extremely angry when an idol from their own culture, someone who feeds their daydreams, suddenly gets pawed by a westerner with access to a seemingly endless pool of women from his own culture.

I don't understand why this is causing such an uproar to be honest. No ones died, declared war, been kidnapped etc. Have you seen the footage of old man Gere with Shilpa, it may have been rather sexist and unpleasant you know.

This is far the most easy question to answer.....HATE sells, Caring and Loving dose not.
People what to see blood, death and suffering. All the other stuff is boring and who cares!
Give the people, SEX.....DRUGS......and VIOLENCE and they are happy.

Hindu fanatics are no different to Muslim fanatics.....religious barbarians who preach death and destruction to all those who are not part of their grubby religion....they only need the slightest excuse to unleash a tirade of hatred and abuse against any Westerner.
