You are confused. Gay Americans have the same rights as straight Americans. Military service is a privilege not a right. Marriage is a privilege not a right (if you don't think so try this one, no one wants to marry you, do you think it would be proper for the government to force someone to marry you?) Just because the law does not promote a homosexual agenda it does not follow that gays have no rights in America

gays do have rights in America. They are not rounded up, imprisioned, and shot for their gayness. THey have main characters in movies and TV, and march in gay parades.
Gays have all the rights straights have in this country. Now, when you get into privelages, that is another story. Gays will have the same privelages when 80+% of the population no longer considers what they do to be sinful.

You mean that anti discrimination laws and hate crime laws arent an effort to help gay people and give them rights?

I guess when people stop projecting their insecurities on gay people. Isn't ironic how so many of these people demand respect for their feelings while trampling someone else's. Now that's the Christian love we all know and love.

I think if you pay taxes you have rights. But rights that only apply to gays is kinda racist to everyone , thats like having rights only for blacks, and white, and asians. We all have the same rights so that there is no confusion.
But the rights for marriage, that I dont believe in. Marriage is between a man and woman. Its bad enough men and woman dont treasure marriage anymore, but to allow to people of the same sex to marry is just not right.

What rights don't they have? Marriage is a union between 1 man and 1 woman, look it up. You can't discriminate against them due to laws already on the books. If you do you will be sued. The main reason is that the majority of Americans do not approve of the behavior and don't want to see or hear about it.

Probably not for a while. Not until religion is separated from gov't. Even when they do get rights, there'll still be descrimination, and it'll probably create even more of a problem. Church goers will protest against it, I'm sure. It's not fair, but it's the way it is. They should just keep fighting for it, and hopefully they'll be given them.

Gays have rights, everyone has rights. Its called the constitution. Why should you get your own special privilege rights just because you have sex with the same gender. Thats kinda silly don't you think, making a whole new set of law because of sex. Its not that serious, we could be in Syria where they kill all non-Hetero Muslims, or China where they kill anyone who speaks against the government. Stop whining and get over yourself.

I dunno. Would be a good time for "justgayfolks" to answer a question.
He supports a party that doesn't want or accept him.
I'm hoping one more generation will do it. Every generation becomes more tolerant of most everything.
Like women voting in the 20's, civil rights in the 60's, and now equal rights for gay Americans. They'll come around eventually.

You want to be treated equal in the eyes of the state on issues of marriage etc. Why do you need rights? are you not a citizen? Why because you like to play for the other team should you be allowed special rights? You are not a minority. And as far as the policy goes, stick with that, I don't and won't ask, and you please please do not tell.
