Oryia, my name is Dr. Roderick Pyatt, Ph.D. I'm a full-time Paranormal Psychologist/Researcher specialising in Ghosts, Spirits & Demons...Hauntings in general. My formal education in this field includes a Bachlorate in general Psychology, a Masters in Experimental Psychology (U.S.) & a Doctorate in Paranormal Psychology (University of the West Indies @ the University of Kingston, Jamaica). Aside from this I was ordained a Minister at Southside Baptist Church in Lake Charles, La. I have over 40 yrs. of experience in researching the Paranormal in various countries in Britain, Europe, Asia, Africa and the West Indies as well as several states here in the USA. The above proclamation is not for bragging or arrogance, but rather in hoping my advice to you will carry some weight. I feel this is very important because you can, and have, receive(d) some very poor to downright dangerous advice. I am sure that anyone who takes the time to answer your inquiry is well-intensioned. However much, though not all, of the advice you have, and will receive, is totally off-base and even borders on the ridiculous. So, with what information you've stated, I would like to forward my own opinion: No, I do not think you are "going nuts". Rather I think you are experiencing a "typical" Haunting with, as one answer stated correctly, by more than one Entity. Did the "running" Entity sound like a child? I would tend to think so. Were all your doors and windows closed when you experienced the "gusts of wind" ? Again, I would assume so since the experience made such an impact on you and your brother. The Entity which "sits on the bed", does it sit heavily as with an adult would, or lightly as a small child or possibly a domestic animal would? Is the sink faucet in good repair? Faucets and valves Do Not expand and contract causing a leak, especially to the point of being "turned on". These events, as well as the slamming door, are very common to a "typical" Haunting. They Are Not indicaters of "something evil". The events you have stated are Not Poltergiest nor Demonic, they are simply actions caused, in all probability, by the type of Ghost we call a "Casper". Totally harmless Entities who just seem to crave attention from the Living. If they were evil, you'd certainly know it by now. Matter of factly, in many instances the property owner accepts this presence of the Entity(ies) and, at times, go so far as to develope a "fondness" or in the least, a "rappor" with the Entity considering it, more or less, a member of the household. Only Demons may be "exorcised", not Ghosts. Most of the "methods" of ridding oneself of Ghosts are comparable to mythical rituals such as "shooting a Werewolf with a silver bullet by someone who loves it enough to understand". Or driving a steak through the heart of a Vampire. As for "holy water" affecting a Demon, the action tends only to Piss Them Off!...and make matters all the worse. These and most other popular "rituals" are strictly superstition dramatised by Hollywood and horror novels and fostered by the uninitiated. Believe me, I speak from experience. In the case of ridding yourself of an unwanted Spirit or Ghost, the best you can do is talk to it, one-on-one, and tell it that it is frigthtening you and your family, and to please leave the property. At the very least, would it please desist from making its' presence known. Always...! treat the Entity with respect, just as you would a trusted and honorable living guest in your house.
This is very important! From all indicators Ghosts appear to retain at least some of the emotions and feelings of the living. There is no reason to be afraid of your "guests", they intend you no harm! Again, they simply want attention from the living. In summation I hope that my humble dissertation brings you some comfort and peace of mind, if not a solution to your current situation. There are so many things I could tell you concerning your delimna, but the important points I've out-lined here hopefully will help you. If you have any questions or comments, you may contact me at,
I wish you the best. God bless. --Rod

If a ghost is living in your house make friends with it. some ghost do not harm you. There are those who walk between worlds and stay behind because either they have done something wrong by an axident. I have a cousin who lives in a house built in the 1920s its one of the oldest house still up in Bhm in the southside area. she has a ghost that has been living there since the house was built. This ghost is a guy that the story was late night he heard someone in the kitchen hearing plates fall. Well the guy thought it was a burglar and so he shot his only daughter. So for his mistake he is walking between both worlds to pay for his mistake until it is finished. This ghost is harmless and he is ok with my aunt to stay in the house. So i say to you is If that ghost is ok you living in that house and you have no worried just don't anger him or her. Also, i would say usually when a ghost appears to you there is a reason for it. Just be the ghost friend and help him or her if needed as long you are cool having a ghost in your house then you will not have any problems. If you do have a problem your house being haunted then there is only one thing to do is find the missing body and beary it. more than likely what caused that is a house being built on an old grave site or someone was murdered in that house centuries ago.

You said this started just a few months ago, I was curious, think back to when the occurrences started, was there anything in your home that changed? Are there any new or recent renovations? Has anyone in your home been delving into the spiritual world (ie: black magic ouji boards pagan religions etc.) Has something new been brought into the home? (relics, statues, paintings,) No your not crazy, alot of people experience many things they would consider paranormal. All of the other suggestions including the one about Jesus are very good. Researching the homes history is a very good idea, checking to see if there are any new or recent geological changes in the area will help you get closer to an answer. I am leaving a link that has valuable information that may help or at least answer some of your questions. I am by no means an expert at all of this but I do know alot about paranormal things, and have been on and continue to do many investigations myself. If you don't get the answers you are looking for or just need someone to talk to get in touch with me.I hope things work out for you.

I don't believe in ghosts as well but your story is interesting in some manners, especially when it's felt by more than one person, I've heard a lot of reasons why those things my occur (or shall i say makes u think it occurs) one of those is based on electromagnetic (EM) waves effecting the brain, it's similar to the effects of the EM waves on electronic circuits, as u may already know the brain works by electric nerve signals sent from body sensors such as the eyes or ears, some say that if the EM field is strong enough it may affect these electric signals sent to the brain causing strange feelings, sightings or sounds, these EM fields can be coming from a near by mobile base telecommunication station (BTS) or radar stations.... etc but u need to be real close to it to be affected... that's all i can tell u really

Your story is not uncommon. There may very well be something sinister hanging around. See if you can dig up some history on the house from the neighbors or city records. Someone may have died in the house and doesn't want to leave, or something bad may have happened there in the past. There are some people that investigate these things and religious people that can try to clear the place. But your experiences are typical of a haunted house.

You may want to find a local paranormal investigation group and call them in; they should work for free.
You can also do some research on the land your home sits on as the home is not likely to be itself the source of the haunting. A local historian or library can assist you.
If you have a particular faith such as Catholicism, you can often ask for your home to be blessed or cleansed.
Good luck!

I suggest that you find out what the house is buried on top of. I have read that some house that are built on secret cemeteries. If not you might want to contact Sylvia Brown, she appears on Montel, she is a psychic. she might be able to help her. Oh. If you feel a cold spot some where that means that there is a spirit there. I am half thinking that you are just being paranoid. the brain does play tricks on you. I dout that the spirit is going to harm you try asking it to leave and be at peace. Some times my door moves mystery, that might explain the bed. The bed could move because of the weight, but that doesn't explain the faucet. Try to relax, you are going to be fine.

I would say that you have and one of you - or an invited guest maybe a house sitter has been playing aroud with the supernatural and invited something in. Or something has just passed through and decided to stay. Now what to do with it. look on the internet and find some chants and spells - they actually do work and then do this:
Stand in the rooms and tell the unseen to spoks this is your house and to leave - you may have to repeat the process. Secondly get a bunch of dry sage liht it so that its smoking (white sage is good) and smoke all the rooms getting ito the corners. Put salt around the house (sea salt) this is a very good agent for getting rid of spirits. get some holy water and put bowels of it around the house and finally ask the local spiritualist to help or get a local priest.

Well, now before we ask ourselves "Are we going nuts?", you need to investigate a little into the 'happenings'. You need to be sure to look at it from a logical point of view FIRST before jumping to other conclusions.
The sink running on its own can seem ghostly if there are air bubbles within the faucet itself. Although it CAN seem ghostly, it occurs for a number of different reasons - one of which is the influence of expansion of metal. (If however you witness the faucet turn itself on... then that’s NOT expansion of metal).
Next point, electrical interference can be a factor. Someone before mentioned EM (Electro-Magnetic energy), and they may be right. If you have several electrical appliances or objects sitting near each other - then the waves transmitted by each object may just as well be interfering with each other - often causing one to go off on its own OR even distort sound. (This is when you need a professional electrician to come in)...
Now onto a less 'scientific' point of perspective...:
From a paranormal point of perspective - it sounds like you have two 'beings' in your house.
1) A poltergeist: These are noisy spirits that love to play pranks on people. Although they actually can't be seen -they are known for various things they do best - throwing objects, banging on doors and walls, writing on walls, making objects move... etc. Just to name a few. With the door and faucet, it would seem logical to assume a poltergeist is doing that.
2) a Shadow ghost: Also known as shadow people, shadows and dark beings - these are a type of ghost that are only ever seen 'out of the corner of your eye' OR sometimes rarely - are caught in photos (and often mistaken for actual shadows).
Now what I recommend you SHOULD do is try to prove that these ghosts are actually THERE. The best way to do this is by getting hold of digital camera. Digital cameras are always useful for ghost photos as their specially designed lens are able to capture clearer images (and not to mention the shutter speed is a lot faster too). Anyway, what you do is - take your camera and take photographs around the house whenever you believe there is activity present. If you're lucky, you may capture serious evidence. Sometimes you may capture orbs (this is an indicator for ghostly activity). Another thing you need to be aware of is temperature change – if there IS any sudden temperature change, then you most likely DO have a ghost or some form of paranormal activity.
Another way of nailing down evidence is by setting up a video camera. Infrared camera or night vision camera are a little expensive, but if you ARE able to get your hands onto one of these – you’ve got one of the best tools around. An infrared camera may look cool with its green tinge, but it’s super sensitive and most of the BEST ghostly evidence found do come from these cameras. Simply set up the camera somewhere in your house, and well – who knows? You may capture orbs and/or ghosts?! (sometimes even a sneaky human culprit).
EVP’s are something you ought to be aware of too. These little devices are used for capturing ghostly voices. Since we usually can’t hear ghostly voices, EVP’s are designed to capture sound lower than the human ear can detect. I’m not sure how much these cost – but I imagine they are not common devices found at your local electronics store.

You might actuall yhave a "ghost problem." Sorry, but the range of beings called ghosts and capable of these things is too broad to be specific. Try communicating with it, or even just sending messages of a calm, collected, more-or-less friendly "who are you? Can I do something for you?" You will get results soon. Be aware of thoughts that seem to pop up in your head. Depending on what sort of being it is, it may communicate with thoughts or feelings sent directly to your brain.
