I went through a 2.5 yr 17k dollar custody battle and still lost my son, because of my economic situation at that time. I have not seen my son in over 10 years the judge awarded custody to his father because he could better provide for him at the time. At the time of the hearing his father did petitioned child support and his request was declined. I went out a got an education, career and now live well. It's not at all about the money now, but the principle of it all. Can the Texas OAG over rule a custody order?

I make no judgment about your custody issue. What happened to you in the past is not the issue. Your question is whether the Texas attorney general can overrule a court order and the answer is "no."

You've not seen your son in 10 years? TEN YEARS? Why? Was your ex hiding your son on you? Kudos for educating yourself--but if you've made no attempt to see your son in all this time--unless there is some sort of abuse going on then NO--no judge is just going to give custody to a virtual stranger.

Have you called your son and Ex regarding visitation? Perhaps you better start with reintroducing yourself to your child before you make plans to rip his life apart. If you're really interested in having a relationship with your child--THINK ABOUT HIM FIRST......not yourself!
