It is called a bullfrog because the word "bull" is derived from the latin word "bullis luminius" which means to be bask in sunlight.

Does this reasoning apply to the horny toad as well?
I think I have seen a horn on a frog - is it a bullfrog, or a horny toad? Or, are horny toads just horny?
Now I am starting to panic, because I need answers!!!!!!!!!!
