I'm not a Yankees fan, but for me it's Alex Rodriguez. Despite his knack for saying the wrong thing, the guy lives a clean life, works a lot with kids, is a giving philanthropist, and also happens to be a future Hall of Famer who is arguably the best player of his generation (especially if you discount the steroid-aided others). I know he's not the most popular guy with Yankees fans, but he's an incredible player.

I also like Derek Jeter, another seemingly nice guy who also plays hard and keeps his mouth shut.

Got to be Derek Jeter, he played in my hometown of Greensboro, NC when he was in single A and was a great person even then. He has the heart of a champion and will play hard all the time whether he is injured or anything else. I have seen lots of great Yankees come through Greensboro (Roberto Kelly, Don Mattingly, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada to name a few) as we were their single A team for years, but none of them compare with Jeter.
