How long since the Yankees have been in the World Series and how long since they won the World Series? Is Mariano Riveria still as effective as he was back then?
Is the team's success this year tied to the success of the starting rotation?

Guess you didn't see yesterday's game in Oakland. They had a two run lead, two strikes and two outs with Riveria on the mound. Homerun...Yankees lose....

Las time the Yankees were in the world series was in 2003 when they lost to the Florida Marlins, and the last time they won it was when they won the two-peat by beating the New York Mets in the subway series in 2000, Mariano Rivera is deffinetly not as strong as he used to be, and the Yankees starting rotation has suffered for a while, but they have great bats which is something that gets them by season after season

Four Years since they last won the Pennant, Seven Years since they last won the World Series, and Riveria's Still playing in the Bullpen, But I'm a TRUE RED SOX FAN so Yankees will miss the Playoffs or lose to the RED SOX.

2003 The Yanks lost to the Marlins and its been since 2000 that they haven't won it all.
Rivera has been consistent but every 37 year old has to have lost a bit. If its in reference to last nights lose, It happens to the best of them. It wasn't his night. A backup infielder should never get a fastball over the plate.
The success of any MLB team is tied to their starting rotation. These are the guys who keep it close and if they can't, well its home for the fall.

To all you haters out there: YES, Rivera is human. He did blow 3 saves last year. And 2 of them were in the 1st week. His ERA was1.80 last season. I'll still take him over anyone else in the league.
